I went to Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF) for the first time in 1979. I didn't go back until 1999, when I moved back to Houston from Austin.  Now it's a tradition that I will never outgrow.  My daughter was only 5 back then and she's gone with me every year since as has my best friend Lady Diana.  We've changed characters a few times in those years, but generally, Diana is nobility of some kind, my daughter Kirby is a fairy, and I'm a Scottish or pyrate lass.
